Go big or go home! Nebraska chose to go BIG for Volleyball Day by filling Memorial Stadium in Lincoln with a crowd of 92, 003 people. The confirmed attendance breaks the world record for a women's sporting event.
Many folks are left scratching their head... WHY? Why did they go through so much effort to turn the football stadium into a volleyball court for ONE night? Why did so many people show up? Because Nebraska can and did!
Contrary to popular belief, Football is not the only college sport of worth. These Husker Volleyball gals smashed the false pretense that men's sports are the only ones worth watching.
They also did it for the bragging rights. Nebraska wanted to stick it to their rival Wisconsin. Last September, WI stole the women's volleyball attendance record from Nebraska, with a crowd of 16,883 at their match against Florida.
Regardless of reasoning, Nebraska proved that Women's sports are EPIC! Worth watching, attending, supporting, and cheering on!
